01 The RCC problem
Concrete villas need engineered Wi-Fi, not a bigger router.
Hyderabad villas are built with reinforced-concrete slabs, brick or block walls and, increasingly, glazing with metallic coatings. Each slab can cut Wi-Fi signal by 15–25 dB. A single router in the ground-floor living room simply cannot light up a G+2 or G+3 home, no matter how many antennas it has.
Range extenders and wireless mesh units repeat a weakened signal and halve throughput at each hop. Video calls freeze on the stairs, the smart TV buffers upstairs, and cameras drop offline. Today's homes run automation hubs, door phones, CCTV and streaming at once — the network is now infrastructure, like plumbing.
02 EDN architecture
How EDN distributes the network equally.
Access points are placed by survey, not guesswork, and every one is wired back to the rack.
Fig. 04 · Single-router dead zones (left) vs. EDN ceiling APs on CAT6A backhaul (right)
Each floor gets one or more ceiling-mounted access points, powered over Ethernet so there are no adaptors on walls. A controller manages channels and transmit power across the whole home, and fast-roaming standards (802.11k/v/r) hand your phone from one access point to the next mid-call.
The network is segmented: family devices, smart-home and security devices, and guests each sit on their own VLAN, so a guest's laptop never sees your cameras.
D1 Survey and AP placement Floor plans · materials · usage
We mark access points on your floor plans using wall materials, room usage and where people actually sit — the home office, the media room, the terrace. Coverage is then verified on site with measurement, floor by floor.
D2 Wi-Fi 6 / 6E / 7 access points Ceiling · PoE · controller-managed
Modern access points handle dozens of simultaneous devices with better efficiency. We select models by the number of devices, the bandwidth of your fibre connection and whether your phones and laptops support newer Wi-Fi standards.
D3 Rack, PoE switch and UPS Ventilated · labelled · backed up
A ventilated rack holds the router/firewall, managed PoE switch, NVR, automation hubs and AV equipment, on a UPS so Wi-Fi, cameras and the security hub stay up through short power cuts.
03 Structured cabling
CAT6A structured cabling, planned before plaster.
CAT6A supports 10-gigabit Ethernet over full-length runs, so the cabling you install today will outlast several generations of Wi-Fi and devices. We run it in dedicated conduit, separated from power cables, terminated on a patch panel and labelled at both ends.
For villas under construction we hand your builder a cabling drawing with every drop marked: ceiling access points, TVs, the home theater rack, cameras, door stations, study desks and the terrace. Cables are tested and certified before the false ceiling closes.
Typical drops in a G+2 villa
- 1–2 ceiling access points per floor, plus terrace
- 2 drops behind every TV and in the home theater rack
- 1 drop per camera and per door station
- 2 drops in each study or work-from-home desk
- Fibre or conduit from ISP entry point to the rack

FAQ · Straight answers
Questions Hyderabad homeowners ask us
01 Why is Wi-Fi so weak on the upper floors of my villa?
Reinforced-concrete slabs and walls absorb Wi-Fi heavily — often 15–25 dB per slab — so a single ISP router on the ground floor cannot cover a G+2 or G+3 villa. The fix is multiple access points connected by cable, not a more powerful router.
02 Is mesh Wi-Fi good enough for a villa?
Consumer mesh systems that link wirelessly lose throughput at every hop, and RCC slabs make those links worse. Mesh units connected by Ethernet backhaul behave much better. EDN uses ceiling access points on wired CAT6A backhaul with controller-managed roaming.
03 What is EDN?
EDN — Equally Distributed Networking — is AV Box's approach to whole-home networks: a central rack with a managed PoE switch, CAT6A cabling to ceiling access points on every floor, planned channels and power levels, and fast roaming so calls and streams continue as you move.
04 When should cabling be planned in a new villa?
Before plastering and false-ceiling work. That is when conduits from the rack to each access point, TV, camera and study can be laid cheaply. We give your builder a marked drawing of every drop.
05 Can you fix Wi-Fi in a finished villa?
Usually yes. We survey the home, use existing conduits where possible, and route new cables through false ceilings, shafts or neat surface raceways. Where cabling is truly impossible, wired-backhaul alternatives are evaluated case by case.
